Default People, people, people.

This thread isn't going to have anything to do with any video game. I just wanted to spread my opinion on certain people. There are certain people in this whos main concerns revolve around telling another person that something they did or that they are doing isn't correct or they should not have done that.

Example: guy 1: I wish there was an auction house instead of having to spam the trade channel.
guy2: Dude, there's already like... six threads on this.. mmkay?
guy3: Bro, use the freakin search field. It's useful.

The art of putting people down.
Instead of completely ignoring the thread or saying something in aggreance or opposition to the thread that has been written, they feel they must tell the writer of the thread that he is wrong.
He/she will say, "It clutters the forums." (As if a post on the forums that has already been written about is going to make his life any worse.)
Annnyyywayy... I'm pretty sure this will just fly in one ear, out the other for some people. But the purpose is to maybe have some people realize that there's more to life than telling everybody how wrong they are.

Adieu and until next time.

shrug*

When people see the same ol' threads remade every day or two, don't be suprised when they voice their anger/annoyance.

oh GAWD, not another whiner thread! D:<

but, yeah. This is an exceptionally large comunity based around a video game. Not everyone is going to have the maturity to post responsibly. And, I'm pretty sure the "Use the Search function" is in the user agreement. Not that backseat moderating is any better.

I like to try and stamp out mediocrity wherever I see it.

I like to call myself a champion of humanity.

Telling people how wrong they are and telling them there's already a thread about this, especially when a link is provided (most of the time already with the answer/discussion the OP was looking for) are NOT THE SAME. And in a burst of incredible irony ftw, I'm going to close this because it's been discussed to death repeatedly, and in Site Feedback, with always the same conclusion. Idiots are not going to go away. We will try to moderate them as much as possible, but we're not perfect.

To quote Lasareth from the Site Feedback post about the STFU mentality:

So it's a situation of play by our rules or don't, really. I don't mean to sound harsh but that's the way it is. And I think the rules are fine the way they are. If you can't handle being courteous, then it is our opinion that your post does not need to exist.

Thanks guys, I'll be closing this now. The question has been answered.
